| State Representative Bryan D. Cutler is currently serving his third term in office in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania's 100th Legislative District. He was first elected in November of 2006 & was last re-elected in November 2010. Bryan faces re-election every 2 years. A life long interest in politics & service brought Bryan to this stage in his life. "At a young age I realized I had to make a choice. I had to choose whether I would be a leader or whether I would be led. I chose to lead. Life is full of defining moments and 2006 was a defining moment for the 100th District. I truly believed it was the moment that would define our future." Cutler's win has not only helped to define a positive future for the 100th District it has permanently changed the face of politics in the area. For Bryan Cutler the road may not have always been an easy one, but it is one that has allowed him to develop strength & leadership skills far beyond those normally displayed by someone his age. At the age of 15 Bryan learned that both of his parents were terminally ill. Bryan will emphasize that he did not go through this period of time in his life alone. “Our community came in & embraced my family in our time of need. They supported us financially, emotionally, spiritually, & physically.” While the death of both parents at a young age will often prove to be a major setback in many people’s lives, Bryan looked at it as an opportunity to build character. In 1993 Bryan graduated from Solanco High School with honors. He then went to Lancaster General Hospital’s School of Radiology where he graduated 1st in his class in 1995. 1995 also represented another milestone in Bryan’s life -- he married his wife Jennifer, a registered nurse. Bryan Cutler has always embraced change & does not shy away from difficult situations. Deciding to work & go back to school, Bryan continued his job in Radiology while attending Lebanon Valley College. In 2001 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from LVC with a major in Healthcare Management & a minor in Business. Examining how he could effect the most change in the community around him, Bryan decided to continue school and entered Widener University in Wilmington Delaware as a law student. Bryan’s hard work & dedication were rewarded in May 2006 when he received his JD (Juris Doctor) from Widener just 4 days after winning the Primary for the 100th District House of Representatives seat. When pursuing his advanced education, Bryan was extremely active at each school he has attended. At LVC he was part of the following: Society of Phi Alpha Epsilon, College Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Lambda, & the Adult Honor Society. At Widener he served as Treasurer of the Federalist Society, & was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Society. Bryan was awarded the Honorable William Duffy Memorial Scholarship, 2005-2006, was on the Dean’s List, Spring 2005 & received a Certificate of Achievement for Health Care Enterprise Ownership. In competitions he was the winner of the Intrascholastic ABA Competition at Widener School of Law for (ADR), a Regional Finalist for ABA Competition at Washington & Lee University School of Law for (ADR) & Superior Authorship Competition for the Widener Law Review. The paper analyzed medical malpractice reform in Pennsylvania. In 2003 the Cutler family expanded when Bryan and Jennifer welcomed the birth of their first child, daughter Cheyanne. 2005 saw another addition with the birth of son Caleb. The Cutler's weren't through yet, daughter Drew Carolyn was born in January of 2008. Despite an incredibly busy schedule, Bryan has found time to be active in his church, Wrightsdale Baptist, & his township. He previously served on the Drumore Township Planning Commission & was appointed to the Regional Planning Commission representing Drumore Township. When Bryan has downtime, his interests include amateur triathlons, mountain biking, hunting, running, reading, studying history and vacationing with his family. |
