Bryan Cutler candidate for re-election to the 100th Legislative District, State House of
Representatives, has issued the following statement in response to Attorney General Tom
Corbett's announcement that indictments have been filed against 1 current State
Representative, 1 former State Representative and 10 legislative staffers in relation to the
"Bonusgate" scandal.  Along with questionable bonus', it has been alleged that campaign
activities were being conducted from legislative offices.

Representative Bryan Cutler's statement:  "As many people know I ran my campaign on
open government, access to information, integrity, and accountability.  In keeping with this
promise I have from the beginning posted my legislative expenses online and in the office,
offered amendments for expansion of the open records law to include the expenditure of
every public dollar, and the names of everyone executing contracts with the Commonwealth.
In light of the recent revelations I believe it is even more important than ever to initiate these
kinds of accountability measures.

The charges discussed today, if true, are the worst kind of abuse of the public trust and
money.  I also believe that the judicial process and the investigation must run its course to
restore integrity.

I have always understood the importance of separating the legislative activity from political
work.  I have always forbidden anyone in my office to work or volunteer on my campaign.  I
have implemented these personal rules out of respect for the law, residents, and the trust
they have placed in me."
