State Representative Bryan Cutler (R-100th) announced to a group of more than 50 supporters
at the Solanco Senior Center this evening that he is seeking a return to his State House of
Representatives seat. Cutler was elected to his first term in November 2006.
“In my 2006 campaign, we had over 100 volunteers working together and separately at
different times. These dedicated individuals helped me to send out approximately, 30,000
pieces of mail make over 20,000 phone calls, and knock on over 1,000 doors.” Cutler said.
Many of these same volunteers will be rejoining Cutler as he seeks re-election.
Bryan Cutler began his first term honoring his promise for financial accountability. All of his
legislative expense accounts are posted in his office for public inspection. They are also posted
in the media. "People like knowing they are there and can be viewed anytime." Cutler said.
Cutler says that his main goal as a legislator has been to, “return the people's voice back to
government". During his tenure in the legislature he has taken an active role in working toward
reforming statewide government particularly in the area of "open records reform". Cutler has
introduced legislative amendments which require that any company which contracts to do work
for the Commonwealth must disclose who the individuals associated with that company are. A
second amendment requires that any expenditure which is made on behalf of the legislature for
the legislature must be made a matter of public record. Other initiatives Representative Cutler
supports are: full lobbyist disclosure and the discontinuation of Public Service Announcements
by legislators which appear to be campaign related.
"I would be honored to serve a second term as your State Legislator in the 100th District."
Cutler said. "There are those who say that the reform movement is dead, but at the heart of it
is a job that still needs to be done. While it can be frustrating, and we must sometimes be
happy with only small gains, it is important we continue to work for greater change. Returning
government to the people can not be done in just 2 years. I promise I will continue to work to
bring integrity back to the legislative process and create a government that serves all of us."
Cutler said.
