Bryan Cutler candidate for re-election to the 100th Legislative District, State House of
Representatives, was "in over his head" in cold water on Saturday, August 23.   As the official
"dunkee" in a tank set up at the "Cutler Family Picnic", Cutler taunted bystanders to take a shot at
trying to drop him into the water tank.

One very willing participant was former Cutler Chief of Staff and current Clerk of Courts Ryan
Aument.  "When I worked for Bryan he constantly talked about cleaning up politics, but I didn't think
this is what he meant" Aument said as he threw a fast ball that found it's mark and placed Cutler "in
the drink".

Acknowledging loud cheers with a large smile and a "thumbs up" Aument then turned to his wife of
only a few weeks, Kate Smith Aument and encouraged her to "take up the mantle".  An enthusiastic
Mrs. Aument supported her husband by continuing the newly acquired family tradition of dunking his
former boss.   It would appear this is a match made in heaven.

Held at the Smithgall Farm in Drumore, former Lancaster City Mayor and artillery expert Charlie
Smithgall shot Civil War Era cannons from his private collection throughout the afternoon.  The big
bangs both startled and delighted attendees.  Smithgall who served as the event's Honorary
Chairman gave lucky picnic sponsors the opportunity to shoot the cannons themselves--something
they were anxious to do.  "How often in your life do you get to shoot a cannon"? one excited sponsor
said before he pulled the rope.

The picnic was organized to thank volunteers and supporters for their continued dedication to
supporting Bryan Cutler.  Cutler's goal was to make this an event to be remembered.  "I wanted to
give these campaign VAP's (Very Appreciated People) something extremely special--a memory that
they can carry with them for years to come." Cutler said.  "Without them I would not be in office
today".

Set up as a mini-carnival the picnic came complete with mountains of food, a working fort, a bouncy
castle, the infamous dunk tank, and face painting as just part of the entertainment.

It was however, the introduction of "the big gun" that sent a thrill through the crowd.  Charlie
Smithgall thrilled attendees when he demonstrated his famous "Gatling Gun".  The gun, which has
appeared in specials with Smithgall on the History and Military Channels, is one of only a few still in
existence.  The majority of original "Gatling Guns", first introduced during the Civil War, are in
museums.

Attendees not only watched Smithgall demonstrate the power of the first "machine gun" but were
given the opportunity to shoot the gun themselves.   Shaking his head as he walked away after
taking his shots attendee Jere Swarr said "that was amazing".

"I am extremely grateful to Mayor Smithgall, his wife Debbie and all the volunteers who worked to
make this such a unique and exciting event."  Bryan Cutler said.
